Chicken With Brown Sugar Sauce

Today we bring you a recipe designed for the little ones in the house: some crispy chicken wings with brown sugar sauce. This dish is quick to prepare, easy to eat, and the sauce gives it a sweet-to-salty flavor much like barbecue sauce.

The recipe is very tasty and it does not take a lot of sauce for the chicken to take that different touch that we are all looking for. If preparing chicken always the same way bores you, this is the solution to get a fun and different flavor.

Chicken with brown sugar sauce

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml ketchup
  • 150 g of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 kg of wings

  • Put the ketchup together with the sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a saucepan over low heat. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves well, without boiling.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Preheat the oven to 140ºC with the grill.
  • Season the wings and place them on a medium-height baking tray, so that they are toasted very slowly.
  • Grill the wings for about an hour, turning after 30 minutes.
  • Once they are tender, raise the temperature to 180 ºC and cook until the skin is toasted on both sides.
  • Take them out of the oven and brush them immediately with the sugar sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken
  • 300g basmati rice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large tablespoons of brown sugar
  • Oil

  • Preheat the oven to 140ºC.
  • Spread the chicken with 1 clove of garlic and place it on the baking tray.
  • Drizzle the meat with oil and let it rest so that it soaks through.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the salt, pepper, oregano, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Sprinkle over the chicken and bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown.
  • If it looks too dry, wash the chicken with its own broth during cooking.
  • Meanwhile, put a saucepan of salted water over high heat.
  • When it boils, add the rice and boil for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, remove from heat and drain the rice immediately.
  • In a frying pan with a drizzle of oil, fry the other clove of garlic, cut into thick slices until golden.
  • Remove the garlic and add the rice. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • When the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and serve it with the rice as a side.
