Well, that is precisely the case of the “anonymous seller”. It is  about a known single father whose real name is Abdul. He is currently taking refuge in Beirut, Lebanon. After fleeing his home in Yarmouk for fear of the worst.

The “anonymous seller” who took refuge in Beirut  had only 8 pens and the love of his 4-year-old daughter. She accompanied him in this fight to escape the conflicts in his country.

Ever since he came to this city, he went through the streets trying to protect his most precious treasure. At night, he covered her to protect her from the cold and from the approaching drug addicts. But, when the girl opened her eyes and the day came, Abdul continued to sell the only thing he had, his pens, and to be able to feed the little girl.

The anguished expression on his face caught the attention of an activist from Oslo, Norway, named Gissur Simonarson. This, without imagining the impact it would have, took a picture of him and shared it on his social networks.

In a matter of minutes the photograph went viral. The whole world met the man who in the midst of difficulties tried to get something for his daughter.

Gissur did not imagine that with such a photograph he could change the life of that man. However, he acknowledges that the image is very moving and caused him some emotional impact.

This is how an image made thousands of people think again. Many pointed out that it is one of the strongest photographs in the history of this conflict.

The good news is that not everything was just simple social media messages. Immediately thousands of requests began to come in from people who wanted to help.

Millions of people took advantage of social networks to join in order to find the “anonymous seller.” Well, since then it was not known what his whereabouts were. After two days of intense searching, Gissur was finally able to find Abdul.

Through Twitter, the activist challenged himself to raise $5,000 to help the man and his little daughter. But, to his surprise, he reached the figure in just 30 minutes and in total managed to raise $80,000.

Such a figure meant a new beginning for Abdul. He burst into tears after hearing the news.

Abdul is just one of the four million refugees who have escaped this brutal war. A survivor who proves that innocent people are suffering the most.

He now has a decent roof to start a new life with his daughter. Now you can send it to school. During the interviews he has given, he stated that his wish is to help other refugees with the money that was donated to him.

“Thank you all for your generosity, but above all thank you for returning the smile to my daughter …” said Abdul. This is the story of a 35-year-old honest man who left everything in his home country to save his beloved daughter.
