  • 2 cups of coconut oil (400 g).
  • 170 grams of ground dried arnica flowers.
  • 6 tablespoons of dried cayenne powder (60 g).
  • ½ cup of beeswax granules.
  • ½ teaspoon of rosemary essential oil (optional).

Preparation

  • Crush the arnica flowers in a mortar or crumble them with your hands.
  • Put the ground flowers in a slow cooker or a water bath, and add the cayenne pepper.
  • Next, add the two cups of coconut oil and stir well so that the pepper and arnica are well submerged.
  • Cover the mixture and let it simmer for 8 to 12 hours.
  • During this time, you will need to stir it occasionally to make sure the flowers are still covered in the oil and keep the temperature under control.
  • After the allotted time, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for an hour or so.
  • Do not let it solidify and make sure it is at a bearable temperature for the skin
  • Now, on the glass jar for packaging, place a piece of cloth and carefully pour the infusion of arnica and coconut oil into it.
  • If it is not very hot you can wring the cloth to speed up this process.
  • When the herbs have been separated from the oil, take it back to a clean pot and leave it on a low heat for a while longer.
  • Add the beeswax and stir as long as necessary so that it is well integrated with the other ingredients.
  • When the wax is already integrated with the oil, remove the pot from the heat and let the preparation cool for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • To finish, add the essential oils and keep it in the container of your choice.
